I developed a role of film that had been sitting in my camera for almost a year and this picture stopped me in my tracks. although iris has only recently learned to say "mama", "dada" and "birdie" she knows far more than me already in her young life. i believe now what they say about old souls... even though it is i who is the "godmother" i get the feeling she will be watching out for me. she seems to be giving me some damn fine advice here, hand on the table and everything - none of which i took soon enough. but i wll from now on.
