One Day

One day, I awoke, with the devil in my room,
He was in my CD player in a Mobb Deep tune
He said, "Kill your people cos your people ain't worth,
Shit," then he switched to say "It's Hell on Earth,"
"Hell on earth" I replied, so then I asked "Why is it,
on this bright and sunny day did you come to me and visit."
He said "Cos rap is what you listen to and so do all your people,
So I decided in your minds that I would plant a little evil,
Now this evil comes from ego's that makes everybody single,
And by believing that you're single evil thoughts can intermingle;
You see when ego is inflated it becomes immense with pride,
And pushes everyone and everything against it to one side,
If someone else would disagree or disrespect their verdict,
Then anger steps in quick to see the opposition's murdered.
Attachment to your thoughts beliefs can sometimes make you blind,
This is why so many cry for truth and love between mankind.
The mind is fool to me you see, it works through thought consensus,
If you believe what I believe then together we'll accept it,
To be the truth, the truth it be till someone comes and changes,
The thought we thought with their new thought, then subject rearranges."
"Okay" I said, whilst their in bed, "why do you still cause trouble,
For man and wife to live their life on earth with such a struggle."
He said "Don't question what I do, I'm here for a good purpose,
To test the soul with mind control whilst living on this surface."
I said "Okay, I overstand, I'll live to overcome,
The things that bring me pain in life that make me blind and dumb,
And when I learn how not to burn in flames or frames of mental fire,
I'll reside inside with truth and light that turns away desire."
In a puff of smoke he left my room and took that CD with him,
I cleared the air then knelt in prayer, said
            "Thank God and Good riddance!"
